Cost Of Waterproofing

Cost of Waterproofing

When deciding to waterproof your basement it is very important to consider a budget. Depending on the area that needs to be waterproofed it can be very expensive, each job is unique, and the cost depends on what you need to be done, and the size and depth of the basement that needs to be waterproofed. Some problems are minor while others are major and need more work to be done. Minor basement fixes can cost anywhere from $500 to $6000, including crack injections and repairs. When choosing waterproofing options ensure to go over all options with your estimator because sometimes choosing the cheapest solution is not always the best solution to the problem and in the end, you might be spending more money than you bargained for because the cheaper option you went with was just a temporary fix.

Major waterproofing jobs can cost anywhere between $1000 – $30,000. Waterproofing jobs, when done correctly, can last over 30 years so, it’s important to invest wisely when going forward with your waterproofing job. Make sure the contractor giving you an estimate goes through all the possible solutions you’re your waterproofing problem. These options include:

Interior waterproofing

Interior waterproofing can cost between $65-$130 per Linear foot.

This is making sure that water inside the basement is redirected out of the basement most times using a drainage system consisting of pipes.

A sump pump can also be used to hold water and pump excess water out of the basement. This can cost an additional @2000-$3000 to get this done.

Exterior Waterproofing

Exterior waterproofing can cost between $150 – $300 per Linear foot. This is the most popular form of waterproofing and would be most likely to be recommended for major basement leaks. Also, this form of waterproofing would most likely be a more permanent resolution to your basement leaks.

Ensure the company you choose is a reliable company with reviews and proof of previous work they did. The cheaper company is not always the best because cheaper does not guarantee the best quality.  It’s always best to use a reputable company that is well-known in your area to get the job done. It’s always best to contact multiple contractors to see which contractor comes with the best solution to provide the best value for your money.
